Jenny Jiaying Chen is an independent scholar and curator. She received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from East China Normal University and completed her postdoctoral research at the School of Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Her research and curatorial practice focus on New Materialism, diaspora aesthetics, and posthuman theory, with particular attention to the role of contemporary art in relation to technological conditions, perceptual structures, and changing forms of social experience. She approaches curating as a mode of research, examining how theoretical frameworks are translated and materialized within artistic practice. She has contributed to the Writers’ Acquisition Committee at the Longlati Foundation, engaging with questions of institutional collecting and narrative formation. Her institutional collaborations include Pro Helvetia, Hyundai Motorstudio Beijing, and HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin). Her writing has been published in Artforum China, The Art-Journal, and Art Review China.
